About NBC

Newbies Bridge Club

Newbies Bridge Club (NBC) was established for newcomers to the game of bridge to have a friendly place to learn the game. At NBC, newcomers can learn and improve their skills without fear of being out of place.

Aucklanders of all generations exercise their minds, and socialise with friends both new and old,  each week at Auckland’s premier bridge club, NBC.

There are many session times to suit everyone’s schedule, come along and try it out!

Club History

NBC, formally known as Knox Presbyterian Church Bridge Club, was established in 1892 in the church hall. Due to alcohol not being allowed by presbyterian law, the Knox Bridge Club bought their own premises in 1906 and changed the club’s name to Newbies Bridge Club Auckland.
